Where is Erzurum Airport and who uses it?
Erzurum Airport (ERZ) serves the city of Erzurum and is operated by DHMİ. Besides city visitors, skiers heading to the Palandöken ski resort use it in winter. According to the Technical Information page of DHMİ, the airport is 13 km from the city. The official page gives no km figure for Palandöken, and we do not publish a distance we cannot verify.
Ways to get from the airport into town
DHMİ lists Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality buses, taxis and car rental for airport access. A private transfer from Transferyar is a fourth option:
- Municipal bus: Listed by DHMİ; check the current line and timetable with the municipality. Suits travellers with little luggage and flexible timing.
- Taxi: If you want a car right after landing; vehicle size and fare are settled on the spot.
- Car rental: Listed by DHMİ; suits you if you plan your own itinerary, and you handle the road and winter conditions yourself.
- Private transfer: You see a fixed price per vehicle when booking and the driver waits with a name board. For night arrivals, larger families and groups with ski bags, you choose the vehicle in advance.
Winter season: the right vehicle class for ski luggage
Ski and snowboard gear is bulky. Our data gives these capacities: Minivan 5 passengers and 5 bags; Minibus 10 passengers and 8 bags; Minibus 13 Pax 13 passengers and 8 bags. Equipment bags are not counted separately in our data, so if you carry a lot, consider the next larger class. After booking you can add a note for the driver via «Edit details»; the note is passed on to the carrier but is not certain until the carrier confirms. See all classes on the vehicles page.
